I started a new job board website, I knew without any good keyword rankings, my website would be a ghost town. I had to solve the chicken or egg problem. Without any jobs postings, customers would not come, with out any customers, employers would not post any listings.
I also knew that the google “sandbox” would take 6-12 months before you begin to start ranking for any search engine keywords.
My traffic users numbers are as follows:
Month 1 – 27 users
Month 2 – 66 users
Month 3 – 212 user
Month 4 – 442 users
How was I able to get and grow these users?
I started with indexable job scraping, I was able to scrape jobs that I imported. I imported about 1500 jobs. The jobs were in the correct schema format to qualify for google for jobs.
I then started to share these imported jobs to my social sharing platforms with a paid service called Dlvr.it
(14.99 a month).
With my site being a geographical location board, I joined a few established facebook groups and would post 1-2 listings about 3 times a week. I would get about 5-10 visitors a day from this.
Around the 3rd month I started to get a few paid job postings.
Without the scraping/dlvr.it/facebook groups, I would have only receive about 10 visitors a month.
I plan to keep growing the site, adding paid indexable backfill jobs with Lensa.com
My expenses are low since I am using wordpress.
Hosting – $7 a month
Dlvr.it – $15 a month
Scraping – Free
